BCC Representative Visits CCCB in Barcelona

As part of its efforts to expand international cultural partnerships and strengthen cross-border professional networking, the International Referent of the Budapest Cultural Center (BCC) paid an unofficial visit to the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) to explore potential opportunities for cooperation between cultural institutions in Budapest and Barcelona.

The main aim of the visit was to establish initial contact between the two institutions, identify shared priorities, and explore the foundations for a long-term professional partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on the potential mobility of cultural professionals in both directions, enabling the exchange of methodologies, community engagement practices, and experience in cultural management.

The discussions also addressed possibilities for exchanging exhibitions and travelling showcases, as well as developing joint creative platforms connecting contemporary cultural production in Hungary and Spain.

Furthermore, the meeting explored opportunities for student mobility, including academic exchanges, residencies, and practical fieldwork. The two institutions also considered the potential for structured, long-term internships and ongoing professional cooperation, as well as the possibility of jointly applying for EU-funded projects through programmes such as Erasmus+ and Creative Europe.

The exploratory visit represents an important first step towards establishing a sustainable partnership between the Budapest Cultural Center and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, creating opportunities for artistic exchange, institutional learning, professional development, and closer cultural cooperation between Hungary and Spain.
