Preparatory Visit to Vienna: Erasmus+ Mobility Program

Organized by the Budapest Cultural Center, a one-week study trip will take place in Vienna this autumn, in preparation for which three colleagues visited the Austrian capital and toured the cultural spaces to be visited in October.

During the visit at the end of August, we personally met with the staff of Die Wiener Volkshochschulen (VHS – Vienna People's College), who, according to our agreement, will present one of their main locations to the Hungarian delegation in addition to their central office. We personally visited the WUK (Werkstätten-und Kulturhaus), a multifunctional socio-cultural institution converted from a former industrial complex, which, according to the creed of the operators, supports everyday culture with a community-centered approach.
During the fall mobility program, we will also visit the cultural center called Sargfabrik, an autonomous institution operated by a local community with mostly self-organized programs. Our next stop will be the cultural center in Amerlinghaus (Kulturzentrum im Amerlinghaus), which implements transcultural, intergenerational and cross-stage programs.

The participants of the Erasmus+ mobility program are all employees of cultural institutions in Budapest, who will have the opportunity to compare the composition of their own organization's training activities, their offerings according to target groups, and their methodology with those of Austrian institutions.
Our goal is to build working international partnerships and adopt good practices, in order to expand our own training offer, as well as help the methodological work of our domestic partners.

The results achieved during the trip to Vienna will be shared at a professional conference in autumn, to which representatives of the capital's public cultural institutions are cordially invited.
