ENCC Online Conference: Enabling Youth and Marginalized Groups
Organized by the European Network of Cultural Centers, this online event dealt with the involvement of marginalized groups in culture with the focus on youth with an intersectional approach.
Hearing the voices of marginalized groups and youth is of utmost importance. Opening the dialogue and facilitating accessibility is key for socio-cultural centers and the cultural sector in general. One way of doing so is through establishing, maintaining and securing safe spaces for young people. Meaningful participation also involves networking with the youth sector and youth organizations to encourage engagement. Supporting and uplifting youth and marginalized groups within socio-cultural centers is key to fostering inclusion and meaningful participation. Members of the European Network of Cultural Centers are dedicated to facing such challenges.
On behalf of the Budapest Cultural Center, international cultural referent Krisztián Bakó took part at the online conference.
