One of the defining elements of the diverse cultural program of the small Moravian town is the sonorous-named Mikulovanka Wind Orchestra, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the ensemble gave a gala concert on the stage of the town’s theater and cinema hall on December 13, 2024.

The audience could listen to reminiscences from the band leader, Mikulovanka’s tuba player. Valuable gifts were also handed over, for instance from the former mayor of Mikulov’s Austrian partner town, Drasenhofen. The concert was attended by the current and former mayors of Mikulov – the latter was also a Mikulovanka trumpeter – as well as the director of the town’s cultural institution, who took the stage as the event’s moderator and guest singer.

The Budapest Cultural Centre wishes the Mikulovanka Wind Orchestra many happy years of music.
