The Center of Hungarian Culture in Rome

In the interest of expanding its international cultural relations, the Budapest Cultural Center contacted the Hungarian Academy in Rome, or in Italian, the Accademia d’Ungheria in Roma, at the beginning of April this year.

The headquarters of the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome is the Falconieri Palace, located at 1 Via Giulia. The history of the building dates back to ancient times and has been the property of the Hungarian State since 1927. Its tasks include the research, protection and care of the remembrance of Hungary in Italy.

The Gallery opened in 1992 and annually hosts the exhibition of the fine arts scholars of the Hungarian Academy in Rome, as well as Hungarian and international exhibitions. Conferences, roundtable discussions, concerts and screenings are held in the great hall of the Palace. The library consists of approximately 15,000 volumes and has a significant collection of periodicals.

On behalf of the Budapest Cultural Center, international cultural referent Krisztián Bakó personally visited the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome.
